The Grove Scenic Reserve

Just a few mins drive west from Beau Vista Pohara is a much-loved easy walk that winds intimately through captivating rock formations and stunning nikau and native trees. If you're looking for a memorable experience this one is a must and well worth a visit or two. The sign states it takes 30 mins to walk the loop track. This is becuase the rocks, nikau and native fauna are so breathtaking that it really would be rude to pass at pace. Walk length:   1km loop track. Time 30mins return. Difficulty:  Easy Track condition:  Mostly a wide gravel path. Obstacles include: a few optional steps to the lookout, small water channels in the path, a tighter section where the path narrows and the ground is uneven. The last two obstacles make this unsuitable for wheelchairs, otherwise it is an enjoyable short walk for most. Look for:  Explore the rock features and crevaces.
